Welcome from the Mayor
Hello and welcome to the City of Silverton's website. If this is your first visit or a return visit, we welcome you. Silverton is a diverse, growing and thriving first ring suburb city with access to all major interstates.
We have a variety of places to work, live, dine, shop and worship. New businesses are locating within our City, while others are expanding. We are located in the Cincinnati Public School district with plans to build a new Silverton Paideia "Museum" School in the near future.
The City has been awarded funding for the improvement of the intersection of Plainfield and Montgomery Roads through our state's local Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The City will widen the intersection to provide a dedicated southbound turning and stacking lane. The project also includes Phase I of the Silverton streetscape program that will include new traffic signal mast arms, decorative lighting, and sidewalk pavers. The streetscape will encompass both sides of Plainfield Road from the Montgomery Road intersection north to approximately 6920 Plainfield Road. The estimated cost of the project is over $600,000. Additional funding sources include the Community Development Block Grant program, the State Capital Improvement (Issue 2) Program, and the Hamilton County Municipal Road Aid Fund. Utility relocation will commence in February with construction continuing through the summer.
Again, please enjoy your visit to our website. I hope you return again soon.
